Directions

GPS Coordinates: N 38° 48' 31.86"
W 120° 54'12.84" ; elevation is 798 ft.

From Highway 50 (Big Rig-Friendly Option): Shingle Springs lies between Cameron Park and Placerville. Take the Ponderosa Road exit and go to the north side of Hwy 50, where you will find North Shingle Road (to the right just after you cross the bridge over Hwy 50). Follow North Shingle Road for several miles and it will turn into Lotus Road. Lotus Road ends at Hwy 49 in Coloma. Turn left, cross the bridge, and we're on the right, just across the river.

From Auburn: From I-80, take the Hwy 49 exit and head south 14 miles. Ponderosa will be on the left just before Coloma. The park entrance requires a broad left turn into the parking lot. PLEASE NOTE - This route is not recommended for RVers, because Hwy 49 has several sharp curves and hills to manage. And, it is difficult for RVs to make the left turn into the resort safely because there is no left turn lane, traffic does not yield, and you have to swing wide to negotiate the turn.

Preserve Description
Located on Highway 49, midway between Placerville and Auburn, this resort is a classic! Imagine the South Fork American River running through your front yard and the golden color of the Sierra foothills reflecting off your sunglasses. In addition to a swimming beach, there are several places along the river for rafters and kayakers to launch their watercraft. A sparkling swimming pool and a clubhouse (complete with recreation hall) are great places for families to gather, and a general store and cafe provide comfort and convenience to campers.

We think a weekend at this resort will be all you will need to want to join the Thousand Trails family, if you haven't done so already. This resort is extremely popular, and we encourage you to book today - no kidding!
