Preserve Description
Oakzanita is a great place to enjoy the four seasons of the year! Fall and winter are beautiful, our temperatures cool down and the park is peaceful! Come out and enjoy all that San Diego has to offer! We are just an hour’s drive from the heart of San Diego, where you’ll find the finest attractions, including the San Diego Zoo, Sea World, Balboa Park, Coronado and the Gas Lamp Quarter to name a few. Locally, within 20 minutes is Julian and Viejas Casino and outlet center.
Oakzanita’s breakfast, recreation programming and pools are closed until mid-May. All other amenities are open including the spa. Store is open Thursdays through Sundays for your convenience! WiFi is available for free in the lodge, and if you use Verizon or Sprint for cell phone or air cards, both work throughout the park. This is a great time of year to host a group campout or just bring a friend. Just call the park for details!
We have 6 horse campsites at Oakzanita located near miles and miles of trails in the Cuyamaca State Park. Our corrals include water buckets and feeders for your convenience! All corrals are located near one another for our horse’s camping enjoyment! Call 619.609.1927 for horse camping details.
At an altitude of 4,000 feet, you truly can enjoy the beauty of all the seasonal changes at Oakzanita Springs. We don’t get a lot of snow but do occasionally see it and what a great place to spend the day with your kids when it snows! Their own private snow playground! Most of the year we are under “high” fire danger and allow pressed logs and charcoal only! Occasionally after a lot of rain we will allow a wood fire but call the park directly to find out campfire conditions.
Our staff is friendly and ready for your visit to Oakzanita! Come stay awhile, find out about annual sites, group camping, guest camping and horse camping.
