GPS Coordinates: The following coordinates locate the start of our entrance road:

elev is 1,137 ft. one mile from the Rangers Station.

Special Note: We recommend NOT using GPS coordinates or mapping software programs for driving directions to Rancho Oso. The directions below are the most current, accurate information you will find and are geared toward RVers and those who may be towing campers.

From Santa Barbara and points south: Take Hwy 101 to the State Hwy 154 turnoff at Santa Barbara. Stay on Hwy 154 approximately 12 miles to Paradise Rd. Turn right on Paradise Rd. and travel 5.5 miles to the entrance of the resort.

From San Luis Obispo, Santa Maria and points north on Hwy 101: Take Hwy 101 south to the Los Olivos/Hwy 154 turnoff. Stay on Hwy 154 to Paradise Rd, approximately 24 miles. Turn left onto Paradise Rd. [there is an abrupt left turn, 1 mile past golf course] and travel 5.5 miles to the resort entrance.

From Buellton, Solvang and Santa Ynez: Take Hwy 246 east to Hwy 154. Turn toward Santa Barbara and travel approximately 20 miles to Paradise Rd. Turn left [abrupt left turn, 1 mile past golf course] and travel 5.5 miles to the resort entrance.

Preserve Description

Bordered by the Los Padres National Forest and the Santa Ynez River, Rancho Oso offers acres of beautiful scenery and endless opportunities for horseback riding, hiking, and fishing. Our dude ranch has cattle grazing in the fields and horses that are gentle enough for beginners. A unique cobblestone lodge with a huge fireplace brings the flavor of this western preserve alive. Come stay in a cabin resembling an Old West building or a covered wagon sitting underneath the stars. Spend the day relaxing at our pool and spa, take a short drive to the tourist mecca of Santa Barbara on the Pacific Coast, or head over to the unique town of Solvang.

Winter Updates: Our Stock Dog & Bucking Bull Demo is taking a break for December and January. See you in February! Swimming Pools will be unheated starting Nov. 26. Our spa will remain open; age 12 and over allowed with adult supervision.
