Preserve Description
Winter at Snowflower
We receive up to 500 inches of snow fall per year making it the perfect place to sled, cross country ski, have a snowball fight or make snow angels. Our proximity to some of the nation’s best ski areas and our new cabins in the woods makes Snowflower the perfect jumping off point for your ski or snowboarding vacation. When traveling to Snowflower in the winter you should always have either four wheel drive or chains.
Summer at Snowflower
This beautiful, wooded preserve located in the high Sierra Mountains of Northern California offers fun and adventure for all ages. We strive to offer a range of fun-filled and adventurous activities for our members including trout fishing, kayaking, swimming, hiking and biking. For those who like to take a few risks, gambling at BoomTown or Lake Tahoe are both a short drive.
For those who are looking for some R&R you can find a quite place on our lake’s sandy beach to read a book, go bird watching (eagles, hawks, geese, woodpeckers, and snowy egrets have all been spotted), or just enjoy the scenery of the Sierra Nevada Mountains. We look forward to seeing you this summer!.
Note: Due to our proximity to OHV roads and trails, OHVs and ATVs are allowed to drive off the park to access public lands where OHV users can have a great time. Before you can take advantage of this privilege you must register your OHV at the ranger station. Please inquire at our ranger station regarding OHV specific policies.
FIRE DANGER! Snowflower is in a high fire danger area! Please, no wood fires and limit your cooking to propane cook stoves only and be extra careful!
