From the west: Traveling east on I-40, turn right onto Hwy 64 East at Mocksville exit. Travel southeast on Hwy 64 through Mocksville for 15 miles to the preserve, on the left.

From the southwest: Traveling northeast on I-85, take Exit 87 and get onto combination Business 85-Hwy 29/70-Hwy 52. Drive 6 miles to Hwy 64 West at Lexington. Then drive 8 miles west to the preserve. The preserve is on the right, the first road after crossing the Yadkin River.
