Grandy Creek Replaces Cascade Preserve
A Reacquired Gem In The Great Northwest
2/27/2008
Good news! Thousand Trails has acquired the Grandy Creek Preserve as a replacement for the Cascade Preserve in Washington State.
Cascade is being acquired by King County Hospital District No. 4 under an eminent domain order. The Grandy Creek Preserve is familiar to many of our Leisure Time members, as it was formerly a favorite within that system. When Thousand Trails purchased Leisure Time in 1999, it sold Grandy Creek due to a duplication of properties within the Seattle area.
The preserve, about 75 miles north of Seattle, is perfectly situated at the base of Mount Baker on the incredibly scenic North Cascades Highway, and has long been a favorite for folks who love the outdoors. The bordering creek, which the preserve is named after, is a salmon-spawning stream and attracts many bald eagles during the salmon run.
For most of the last seven years, Grandy Creek has been operated by KOA, and the owners have done a wonderful job improving the resort with the addition of a new restroom/laundry facility, eight new cabins and a new mini-golf course. It holds KOA's highest rating and it truly is a family campground.
All members who had access to the Cascade Preserve now have access to Grandy Creek, which will be part of the Leisure Time system. Call and make your reservations soon and check out everything this park has to offer. |
