Theme Weekends 2009

March 6-8: Grand Opening Weekend:
Welcome back campers for another exciting season! Come to the CH for a home cooked B-fast with Sharon. It’s our 1st Saturday of the month so there will be FREE B-day & Anniversary cake and ice cream. The kites will be flying and the rootbeer flowing over ice cream. Come and see us!!

March 13-15: St. Patty’s Day:
May the “Luck of the Irish” be with you! See how our green eggs and ham, green pancakes suit you. “Jell-O Sucking” is always a big hit here at Bay Landing so pucker up! Also there will be a Pot of Gold hidden on the park for the one lucky person to find. And our annual pot of Irish stew will be served up.

March 20-22: Spring Fling:
Take a break at Bay Landing for a little bit of EVERYTHING! Good food, flag football, Frisbee golf, and we always remember our “four legged buddies” here for a pet show.

March 27-29: Whistling Winds:
Let the March winds blow you into Bay Landing! Paper airplanes will be soaring over and dodging the kites doing their dance in the sky. Look Out! Frisbees’ are flying everywhere! What do I hear? I believe that is whistling can you whistle a tune? Look! Balloons are taking off in the distance, where will they end up? Sharon will even have a winged Bar-B-Qued bird on a plate for us to end the day!

April 3-5 Beautify Day Landing:
Dig out your gloves and join the staff working together to make your park beautiful. We will plant flowers and trees and any thing else that need done. For those of you who help a FREE spaghetti lunch will be provided and a small charge for those who want a plate of our managers’ good tasting pasta! Come join the FUN!!

April 10-12th Easter Weekend:
Hippity Hop over to Bay Landing for our Easter activities. Get your picture taken with the Easter Bunny. Don’t forget to decorate a basket and bonnet for the contest. Find the GOLDEN EGG and win a HUGE PRIZE!! We will have an adult egg hunt at night so bring your flashlights and kids help hide the eggs. Sunrise service will be at the Bay Chapel left of the ranger station.

April 17-19: Puzzle Mania:
Here is a different event for Bay Landing! Spend the day doing brainteasers! WE will be doing all kinds of puzzles from jigsaw to word find. There will be a contest for each one and all ages are welcome to attend. It will be a fun weekend trying to figure it all out.

April 24-26: Rodeo Play Days:
YEE-HAW!!!! This is one you won’t want to miss, all you campers passin through come throw a cow-chip, chug a little rootbeer, and join in our Little Buck-a-Roo Buck out. And always a nice quiet hayride at the end of the evening, with good vittles from our chuck wagon {Sharon snack bar} to satisfy all you big and little cowboys and girls

May 1-3: Cinco de Mayo:
Join in on our Mexico fiesta week-end, wear your best Mexican hat, or we’ll make one for you at craft time, piñata whacking, jalapeno eating contest, Sharon’s snack bar will whip up some good enchiladas with her full blown Mexican Dinner Special.

May 8-10: Pamper Mom’s Day:
Hey Mom’s kick off your shoes and come to Bay Landing for an enjoyable weekend. We will spoil you with a Mary Kay facial and you can order what you need, and find out what new items Cheryl has in store. Also kids you can make mom a gift at craft time. Let Sharon’s Snack Bar do the cooking for you and throw away the apron for the day.

May 15-17: Armed Forces Day:
This weekend will be full of extra goodies to honor the military. A big surprise for the kids and adults will be in store for them. Games and contests will go along with the SURPRISE!!

May 22-25: Memorial Day Celebration:
It’s red, white and blue time again at Bay Landing! Don’t forget to decorate your rig, and or cabin for the best site. Come to the clubhouse for egg toss, water balloon toss, banana eating, and much more!!! There will be Bar-b-que, games and contests all day long and into the night with T-Bone Road at BV for a little dancing under the stars!

May 29-31: “B” Weekend:
Anything and everything under the sun that starts with a “B” we will be doing. Let’s try some Basketball, Baseball, Bingo, Belly flops, how about a Bee contest, Bean jar, Brussels sprout contest, and much more, come try out this new activity with us!!

June 5-7: Great Outdoors Weekend:
This weekend you can expect just good old family fun outside in the HOT June sunshine. Spend the day with us and do some fishing, canoeing, horseshoes and much more. We’ll even throw in a hayride.

June 12-14: It’s a Bugs Life:
Still have your bug cages from last year? It's time to get them out and start collecting for the bug eating contest. Crisp, crunchy, slimy and juicy. Guess what they are, grasshopper, spider, ants etc. We will have a critter race, and the largest bug found contest. And Sharon will have a dinner that will crawl off your plate!

June 19-21: Dad’s Day:
Dad’s day at Bay Landing! All you dad’s enter in the fishing tournament. Come join in on the football toss, casting contest, and sign up for a game of 8 ball at the CH and much more. Kids there will be a craft time for you make dad a gift that he will treasure. Sharon will be fixing a mans meal to end the day.

 

June 26-28: Summer Time at Last:
Nothing like good old family fun outside in the HOT June sun. Come spend the day with us fishing, canoeing and much more! All the fun things that be done in the hot sun and then cool off inside with more games, Try your luck with the WII!

July 3-5: July 4th Celebration:
It’s patriotic time again and Bay Landing is the place to be! Decorate your bikes, tricycles, golf carts, strollers, all ages welcome. We supply the red, white and blue. Let the games begin! All the games will leave you soaked, yoked, and smelling like a banana! Then step up to the buffet for a full meal deal and then off to the beachview for the FANTASTIC FIREWORKS and for dancing under the stars! This is the place to be and you won’t want to miss it!

July 10-12: Wine and Cheese/Hot Tub Party:
Stroll on over to the CH for campers b-fast to get fueled up for the day. The activities will be pouring out throughout the day and then at night for the adults will be our annual hot tub/wine &cheese party. Kids will be entertained will the adults relax!

July 17-19: Back to the 50’s & 60”s:
Dig out your poodle skirts and grease the hair down for a rock and roll day and night! Hula hoop contests, bubble gum blowing, cherry coke chugging, croquet game and you can even drive back in time to a hamburger/fries basket and rootbeer floats. Sharons Snack Bar will provide even a Laverne & Shirley dinner special!

July 24-26: Beach Bum Days:
Get the sand between your toes while you’re building your sandcastles, and launching your cardboard boat at the beach for the Regatta. Try out yourserves at the volley ball game, can you clear the net? Don’t forget your bikini and the sunscreen all the activities will be a scorcher. Dinner maybe cooked out in the sand. And we’re even going to pass a little sand and see who can pass the most!

Jul. 31-Aug.2: Back to School Days:
Bring your kids or your grand kids out to Bay Landing and we’ll knock out those cobwebs for the teachers for the year. We will have games and all kinds of contests that the kids will still think it is still summer. Ping-pong, basketball, weenie roast at the pits, pool tourney, Wii, all the thing kids love to do! Let’s have FUN!

 

Aug. 7-9: Safari Weekend:
Hop aboard Bay Landings safari wagon where the adventures too the jungle begins! See how many jungle animals you can find and pick-up to keep. There could be a monkey in a tree, too a snake on the ground, watch out for the lions and tigers! Don’t forget to enter the “Tarzan yell” contest. You can even make a mold of the prints you find on the park, maybe even a bobcat, or lion for real!

Aug. 14-16: Too Hot to Handle:
Let’s all run for the water! Learn to water aerobic and get into shape for the bike, run and swim triathlon, this is a blast. And you thought Ice was cold, but at Bay Landing it tends too get a little hot on your feet. And speaking of hot, how many “hot fries can you choke down? It’s a skill to out do the jalapeno eaters here can you eat 24 or more? Sharon said she’d have something good boiling up in her pot that will fill your tummy from the Snack Bar.

Aug.21-Aug.23: Sin City Weekend/Los Vegas Connections:
It’s a gambling kind of day and night all for fun and fake money! Win big and spend your fake money at the end of the evening on great prizes! Black Jack, Craps, Roulette and Slots. We’ll even have a poker run through out the day! Good Luck!

Aug. 28-30: Fear Factor Weekend:
Test your fears! Come join us at Bay Landing and see how fearless you are! You will be falling, blindfolded, eating, tasting, and maybe even slurping! Sounds like a blast and it’s sure to be a hit!

Sept. 4-7: Hawaiian Luau/Labor Day:
ALOHA!! It’s island time in the Texas heat! Hula skirts will be rolling off the tables, just as fast as we can make them, along with the lei’s that will be made special by your own hands. It will be a day filled with that “island magic”. Even a roasted pig from the guys on the park makes its grand entrance, right before the feast that Sharon has prepared for all us islanders too enjoy. And then the volcano erupts as T-Bone Road takes center stage at the Beachview pavilion under our own island stars!

Sept. 11-13: “S” Weekend:
A fun filled weekend is in store for all starting with sack races, sand crawl, straw toss, saucer toss, spaghetti slurp, slip and slide, spider walk, sponge toss, sauerkraut contest, straight line walk, sandal toss, soap shuffleboard, and may more “S”. Be prepared to be S’ED!

Sept. 18-20: Sizzlin Sept.:
Hear the sssounds of the bacon sssizzling in the pan too ssstart your day off. The sssun will lead us to the water so be can canoe our way across the ssslue and back. And just like a sssnake we’ll ssslide over to the sssnack bar before all the games begin. SSSee Ya!!

Sept. 25-27: Survival Weekend:
Teams will have to over come the challenges that are given to them. See how well you can work together as a team and win the great prizes at the end of your journey if you make it!!

Oct. 2-4: Chili Cook Off Time:
It’s starting to get cold outside and what a better way to meet new friends and members than over pots of chili. And let the members be the judges! Competition has always been great here at the park with great prizes awarded!! So bring your pot of your favorite ingredients already to serve and maybe you will be the lucky winner!

Oct. 9-11: Columbus Day Celebration:
Who sailed the ocean blue? Christopher Columbus of course! It will be an educational day with the Nina, Piñata, and the Santa Maria. Crafts will be made and coloring contests of the ships and many more activities! Come join the Fun!

Oct. 16-18: Fall Fun:
This weekend will be learning weekend. We have in store for you fall crafts and activities that you have to use your noggin! Some of the things look easy but really aren’t! It’s gong to be a challenge.

Oct. 23-25: Festive Fall:
If you thought last weekend we hard wait till this weekend, .We have made the crafts and games, puzzles etc. a little different so all can enjoy!

Oct. 30-31: Halloween Costume Party:
All you ghosts and goblins come to Bay Landing for the kids party in the early afternoon, and don’t forget the adults costume party at night. This is our last big hoop la for the season and we always do it up right and lots of treats, and goodies for all!! Our haunted hayride just gets better and better and this year you will get scared out of your skin! Big things are in store for you all!!
