2012 THEMES WEEKENDS

March 2-4: Season Kickoff Weekend:
Welcome back campers! Come for a home cooked B-fast with Angie at the Rattlesnake Cave. It’s our first Saturday of the month so FREE cake and ice cream for all the b-days and anniversaries for the month of March. Kites will be flying and crafts being made fun for the whole family. Come and see us!

March 9-11: Puzzle Mania:
Spend the day doing brainteasers! We will be doing all kinds of puzzles and jigsaws to word find. Some will be made into contests, and all ages are welcome to attend. It will be a fun weekend trying to figure this all out.

March 16-18: St. Patty’s Day:
May the “luck of the Irish” be with you!  See how Aggies green pancakes are for her Irish b-fast. Don’t forget to stop in the clubhouse for the “Jell-O Sucking” which has turned into a huge hit here at Bay Landing.  Also there will be a “Pot of Gold” hidden on the park for the one lucky person to find.  And our annual pot of Irish stew will be served up.

March 23-25:  It’s a “B” weekend:
Let’s see how many “B”s the Rec. dept. can come up with. Bingo, Bee contest, bean jar, Brussels sprout, and much more come join the fun.

March 30-April 1: Whistling Winds:
Let the March winds blow you into Bay Landing! Paper airplanes will be soaring over dodging the kites doing their dance in the sky.  Look out! Frisbees’ are flying everywhere!  What do I hear? I believe that is whistling can you whistle a tune? Look!! Balloons are taking off in the distance, where will they end up?

April 6-8: Easter Weekend:
Hop on over to Bay Landing for our Easter activities. Sunrise Service will be held at the local churches in town listed throughout the park.  Angie will be having all kinds of goodies cooked up from her “Rattlesnake Cave”. Find the GOLDEN EGG at our egg hunt and win the HUGE prize .FREE cake and ice cream for the B-days and Anniversary for the month of April.  Don’t forget to decorate your own BONNET AND BASKET for our contest also. We will be having an ADULT FLASHLIGHT HUNT starting at dark so bring your flashlights to find your GOLDEN EGG!

April 13-15: Beautify Bay Landing:
Dig out your gloves and join the staff working together to make your park beautiful. We will plant flowers and trees and anything else that needs done. For those of you who help a FREE spaghetti lunch will be provided and a small charge for those who want a plate of our managers’ good tasting pasta!  Come join the FUN!!

April 20-22: Earth Day:
This weekend we can teach each other what it is to GO GREEN! Crafts will help us to understand and learn what to do to save the planet. Plus extra added activities to make your stay fun here at Bay Landing.

April 27-29: It’s a Bugs Life:
Still have your bug cages from last year? It’s time to get them out and start collecting for the bug eating contest! Just kidding!!! Crisp, crunchy slimy and juicy. Guess what they are a grasshopper, spider ants etc.  We will have a critter race and the largest bug found contest.  And Angie will have a dinner that will crawl off your plate whipped up from her “Rattlesnake Cave”.

May 4-6: Cinco de Mayo:
It’s Mexico fiesta time! Time for jalapeno eating contest, piñata whacking, and crafts. Angie will have something good coming from her kitchen to top the day off from all the activities.

May 11-13: Pamper Mom’s Day:
Hey moms kick off your shoes and come to Bay Landing for an enjoyable weekend.  We will spoil you with a Mary Kay consultant to order your supplies and maybe even a facial. An also kids you can make mom a gift at craft time. Throw away your apron for the day mom let Angie do the cooking for you!

May 18-20: Armed Forces Day:
This weekend will be full of goodies and activities to honor the military, games and contests to support our troops!

May 25-28: Memorial Day Celebration:
It’s red, white and blue time again at Bay Landing! Don’t forget to decorate your rig, and or cabin for the best site decorated! Come to the clubhouse for the egg toss, water balloon toss, banana eating, and much more! There will be Bar-b-que, games and contest all day long and into the night with T-Bone Road at Beachview for a little dancing under the stars!

June 1-3:  Great Outdoors Weekend: This weekend you can expect just good old family fun outside in the HOT June sunshine. Spend the day with us and do some fishing, canoeing, horseshoes and much more.

June 8-10: Rodeo Play Days: It’s time to saddle up for Bay Landings activities.  Step on up and pick out your own cow-chip for the throw.  Be ready for rootbeer chuggin’, and join in our Little Buck –a-Roo Buck Out. Learn to rope and enjoy a evening with a hayride and good vittles from our chuck wagon, Rattlesnake Cave.

June 15-17: Dad’s Day:
It’s Dad’s day at Bay Landing. All you dad’s enter in the fishing tournament. Come join in on the football toss, casting contest, and sign-up for a game of 8 Ball at the CH and much more. Kids there will be a craft time for you to make dad a gift that he will treasure.  Angie will be fixing up a man’s size meal to end the day.

 

June 22-24: Summer Time at Last:
There is nothing like good old family fun outside in the HOT June sun. Come spend the day with us fishing, canoeing, and much more. We will do all the fun things that can be done in the hot sun and then cool off inside with more games. Try your luck with a game of the WII.

June 29-July 4: July 4th Celebration:
It’s patriotic time again and Bay Landing is the place to be! Decorate your bikes, tricycles, golf carts, strollers, for our annual bike parade all ages welcome. We supply the red, white and blue. Let the games begin!  All the games will leave you soaked, yoked and smelling like a banana! Don’t forget our Radical Golf Cart Races!! Then step up to a buffet for a full meal deal and then off to the Beachview for the FANTASTIC FIREWORKS and dancing under the stars with T-Bone Road!  This is the place to be and you won’t want to miss it! Hope to see all you here!!

July 6-8: Wine and Cheese/Hot Tub Party:
Stroll on over to the CH for campers b-fast at the Rattlesnake Cave to get fueled up for the day. The activities will be pouring out throughout the day then at night for the adults will be our annual hot tub/wine & cheese party. The kids will be having a pool party at the same time so the adults can relax!

July 13-15: Back to the 50s & 60s:
Dig out your poodle skirts and grease the hair down for a rock and roll day and night! Hula hoop contests, bubblegum blowing, cherry coke chugging, croquet and a rootbeer float. Aggies Rattlesnake Cave will provide even a Laverne & Shirley dinner special!

July 20-22: Beach Bum Days/Boat Regatta:
Get the sand between your toes while you’re building your sandcastles, and launching your cardboard boat at the beach for the Regatta. Try out your serves at the volley ball game, can you clear the net? Don’t forget your bathing suit and sunscreen all the activities will be a scorcher. We will even pass a little sand. Angie in her Cave will cook up something good for her Saturday dinner special.

July 27-29: Water Madness:
Splish, Splash you will feell like you’re taking a bath! It will be a wet weekend! Make your reservations now and come join the FUN!

Aug.3-5: Safari Weekend:
Hop aboard Bay Landings safari wagon where the adventures too the jungle begins!  See how many jungle animals you can find and pick-up to keep. There could be a monkey in a tree, to a snake on the ground, watch out for the lions and tigers! Don’t forget to enter the “Tarzan Yell” contest. You can even make a mold of the prints you find on the park, maybe even a bobcat, deer, or a mountain lion for real!

Aug. 10-12:  Too Hot To Handle:
Let’s all run for the water for the triathlon, bike, run, and swim, this is a blast! And you though Ice was cold, but at Bay Landing it tends to get a little hot on your feet.  And speaking of hot, how many “hot fries can you choke down”? It’s a skill to outdo the jalapeno eaters here can you eat 24 or more?  Angie said she’d have something good boiling up in her pot that will fill your tummy from her Rattlesnake Cave!

Aug.17-19: Back to School Days:
Bring your kids or grand kids out to Bay Landing and we’ll knock out those cobwebs for the teachers for the year. We will have games and all kinds of contests that the kids will think it is still summer. Ping-pong, basketball, weenie roast at the fire pit, pool tourney, Wii all the things kids love to do! Let’s have FUN!

 

Aug. 24-26: Fear Factor Weekend:
Test your fears! Come join us at Bay Landing and see how fearless you are!  You will be falling, blindfolded, eating, tasting and maybe even slurping! Sounds like a blast and sure to be a hit!

Aug 31-Sept 3: Hawaiian Luau/Labor Day:
ALOHA!! It’s island time in the Texas heat! Hula skirts will be rolling off the tables, just as fast as we can make them, along with the lei’s that will be made special by your own hands. It will be a day filled with that “island magic”. Even a roasted pig from the guys on the park makes its grand entrance, right before the feast that Angie has prepared for all us islanders too enjoy. And then the volcano erupts as T-Bone Road takes center stage at the Beachview pavilion under our own island stars!

Sept. 7-9: “S” Weekend:
A fun filled weekend is in store for all starting with sack races, sand crawl, straw toss, saucer toss, spaghetti slurp, spider walk, sponge toss, sauerkraut contest, straight line walk, sandal toss, soap shuffleboard, and many more. Be prepared to be “S'ED”!

Sept. 14-16: Sizzlin Sept:
Hear the sssounds of bacon sssizzling in the pan too ssstart your day off. The sssun will lead us to the water so we can canoe our way across the ssslue and back.  And just like a ssnake we’ll ssslide over to the sssnack bar before the games begin. SSSee Ya!!

Sept.21-23: Survival Weekend:
Teams will have to overcome the challenges that are given to them. See how well you can work together as a team and win the great prizes at the end of your journey if you make it!!

 

Sept. 28-30: Chili Cook Off Time:
It’s starting to get cold outside and what a better way to meet new friends and members than over pots of chili. And let the members be the judges!! Competition has always been great here at the park with great prizes awarded! So bring your pot of your favorite ingredients already to serve and maybe you will be the lucky winner!

Oct. 5-7: Columbus Day Celebration:
 Who sailed the ocean blue? Christopher Columbus of course!  It will be an educational day with the Nina, Pinata, and the Santa Maria. Crafts will be made and coloring contests of the ships and many more activities! Come join the Fun!

Oct. 12-14: Fall Fun:
This weekend will be a learning weekend. We have in store for you fall crafts and activities that you have to use your noggin! Some of the things look easy but really aren’t. It’s going to be a challenge.

Oct. 19-21: Festive Fall:
It’s that time again to get ready for Halloween. We will be putting together all kinds of critters and getting ready for all the ghosts and goblins!

Oct. 26-28: Halloween Costume Party:
Saturday Oct. 27 all you ghosts and goblins come to Bay Landing for the kid’s party in the early afternoon, and don’t forget the adults costume party at night. This is our last big hoop la for the season and we always do it up right and lots of treats, and goodies for all!! Our haunted hayride just gets better and better and this year we will have another big surprise for you!

 

 

November and December we will have the Holiday Pot Luck Dinners, so come spend the Holidays with us here at Bay Landing!
