Theme Weekends 2009

May 8-10  “Mom’s Sweetheart Weekend” - Mom’s your sweetie so come on out and treat her to a well deserved weekend by the bay.  Phase II scheduled to open and the swimming pool too.  Find lots to do nearby or as little as you want, enjoy each other.

May 23-25  “Memorial Weekend WILD Summer Kick Off” Have a WILD time playing in the sun, on the park or at the waterpark nearby.  Lots to do and see; we hope you’ll be rip roaring for a good time.

June is Storybook Month - The Thousand Trails Birch Bay Preserve proudly presents a month devoted to the timeless treasure of the storybook tales of today and tomorrow. Dress up like your favorite storybook character.  Enjoy a tale each and every weekend. Come and create your own character, fable and fun as we share together the classics.
Various activities and fun will all center on yarns of yesterday.

July is the Month of the ERA - Ever ask yourself what year are we in?  How about what decade?

July 3 – 5  “Live for the Love”
Days of the 60’s will be in full bloom with flower power and tie dye.


July 10 – 12  “DISCO Days” - Days of the 70’s takes us to the platform shoes and bell bottom pants.  Let’s have a boogie-woogie-oogie good time together.


July 17 – 19  “Eighty’s Enough” - Stop trippin’ as we go back in time to crazy hair styles, MTV, Rubix Cubes and Asteroids.  Have we got some heavy time traveling planned and it’s totally tubular dude. Did we mention the BIRCH BAY Discovery Days


July 24 – 26  “90’s Rule” - What was so tight about the 90’s?  Together let’s wrap up this ERA tribute with a modified WIN LOSE or DRAW event for all ages guaranteed to tickle your funny bone and leave you saying those were the days.

 

August 7-9 “Rockin’ and Rollin’ Days”
Saturday night back by popular demand Norm Lynn will be rocking our night away.  If you’ve heard him before you know this is an experience you need to come back for.

August 14-23  “Adventure on the Warm Bay” - Explore the bay lore and legend of the area.  Dare to journey the haunted wreckage of sea goers and campers who came before.

 

September 4-7 “Wacky Labor Day Olympics” - What Thousand Trails Preserve will be the closest to the Winter Olympics in February 2010?  Why it is the Birch Bay Preserve and that is why we have planned our own Wacky Winter Olympic Training Camp filled with events and competitions sure to prepare you for what we all are awaiting. 

October 10  “A Thanksgiving Celebration” - Celebrate our 2nd Annual October Potluck Thanksgiving. Don’t miss out on the fun.  Last year we had 42 thankful hearts and appetites in attendance. Let’s see if we can beat it in 2009. Even if November is your normal turkey time, we would love to help you start a new tradition sharing an October Thanksgiving meal with your Thousand Trails Family.

December 31  “7th Annual Ring of Fire and Hope” - What New Year Celebration would be complete without this peaceful event?  Join the community of Birch Bay as we reflect upon 2009 and RING in 2010 in our very own special tradition.

 

Activities for 2010

January 1  “27th Annual Polar Bear Plunge”
You’ve seen it on the news.  Crazy dippers running the bay line in anticipation of another new year.  Don’t miss this event in Birch Bay.  Happy 2010 your way to Birch Bay too,  Register and Plunge into the new year the Birch Bay way.
