Theme Weekends 2012
April 6 – 8 Easter Weekend
We kick off the season with a weekend of fun! On Saturday there will be a Kid’s Craft along with a bike decorating contest, followed by a
parade (weather permitting). In the evening join us for the Cook’s famous Burgers and Hot Dogs at 5:30pm. On Sunday, rain or shine, there will be an Easter Egg Hunt at 11am. Meet at the Family Centre.
May 5 – 6 Mothers Day Weekend
Bring mom for a free Sunday morning breakfast to celebrate Mother’s Day. Bring the
whole family for a nice weekend away for Mom! On Saturday evening treat Mom to an (All You Can Eat) AYCE Spaghetti dinner, at 5:30pm.
May 12 – 13 Free Guest Weekend
Members, bring your guests to the preserve for 2 free nights! We will allow up to 2 free
guest sites per membership for the weekend (space available). The members bringing
guests and the guests are invited to join the Manager and Staff for a
complimentary
hot dog at 12pm on Saturday. And yes, we will try and sign them up as a member.
Remember, if we do, the referring member may be eligible for a gift! Please call the preserve directly at (604) 858-3932 to reserve your guest’s site. You still need to make your own reservations. On this special weekend, we will be assigning sites for both the members and their guests. The pool should be open by this time, so bring your bathing suits and enjoy the facilities. On Saturday at 5:30pm there will be an
AYCE Chili Dinner.
May 19 – 21 Victoria Day Weekend
Breakfast will be available each morning of the long weekend. On Saturday morning we
have a Kid’s Craft commemorating the Victoria Day holiday. The dinner will be a
Cook your own Steak Dinner (we supply the steaks). Sign up for dinner in the Rec
Hall by 3pm on Saturday. Children’s meals will be available as well. Start cooking at
5:30pm, followed by dancing to the Hong Kong Cowboy at 7pm.
May 26 – 28 Memorial Day Weekend
Come join us on Saturday at 5:30pm sharp for a Pot Luck Dinner. (All you need to do is bring a meal for 10 people.) Meet old friends and make new ones. Sign up in the Rec Hall before 2pm on Saturday.
BREAKFAST WILL BE AVAILABLE EVERY WEEKEND AND ON HOLIDAYS STARTING JUNE 16 WEEKEND UNTIL SEPTEMBER 3 - Check the
monthly schedule for the dinner menu.
June 16 – 17 Fathers Day Weekend
For dinner on Saturday, bring Dad to the Rec Hall for our Cook’s famous
Burgers and Hot Dogs at 5:30pm. Remember on Sunday Dad gets a free breakfast!
July 1 Canada Day
June 30 – July 4 American Independence Day Weekend - Happy Birthday Canada
Breakfast will be available each day of the holiday from 8:30am to 9:30am, after which
on Saturday, July 1st, the kids will make a decoration for their bikes and then join our
bike parade where there will be judges and prizes. The parade will be held at 11am. On
Saturday evening we will be having and an AYCE Spaghetti dinner at 5:30pm. At 7pm join our Recreation Staff for a night of Karaoke. At 1pm on July 1 we will be celebrating Canada Day and will be serving complimentary birthday cake. Happy Independence Day (USA).
On July 2nd, in lieu of July 4th, help celebrate Independence Day (USA) with our
American members, as we offer everyone a scoop of ice cream for half price at the Pie
and Ice cream social at 1pm.
July 7th The Great TT Race Weekend
Kids come and try your skills in the Annual Great TT Race. We will start the race at 2pm. Prizes for the winners and lots of fun for everyone. Come and enjoy The Manager’s famous Burgers and Hot Dogs at 5:30 pm.
July 14 – 15 Christmas in July
HO HO HO, Merry Christmas in July! Bring out your Christmas decorations and decorate your rig for the weekend. Kids come and make a Christmas craft on Saturday morning at 10am for the tree. Maybe Santa will come after we decorate the Christmas tree in the Rec Hall and get it ready for the Turkey dinner, with all the trimmings at 5:30pm on Saturday. Tickets for the meal will be available at the Country Store until 2pm. Seating is limited so get your tickets early!
July 21 – 22 Chili Cook-off Weekend
On Saturday night we will have a Chili and salad dinner. The Chili will be the result of
the Chili Cook-off at 5:30pm, so bring your favorite chili, enough to feed 15 people and
we need at least 5 entries. Cost will be $3.50 per bowl and we’ll supply the bowls. The Manager makes the best chili but does not bribe the judges so he has not won in the
last four years!!!! Maybe this will be his lucky year.
July 28 – 29 Western Weekend
Western crafts for the kids. And we need all the cowboys and cowgirls to dress up in their best western costume for a Steak Dinner (you cook the steak for your meal on our charcoal BBQ) at 5:30pm. Sign-up for dinner in the Rec Hall by 3pm on Saturday and then dance the night away with the Hong Kong Cowboy at 7pm.
August 4 – 6 BC Day Weekend
Breakfast will be served each day on the long weekend. On Saturday night our Casino
Night will start at 7pm and go until 9:30pm. Every parent needs a night out once in a
while so come and enjoy our Casino Night. There will be horse races, black jack, BINGO
and much more. Come try your luck and see what prizes you go home with. Supper will be our Manager’s famous Burgers, Hot Dogs and corn on the cob at 5pm.

August 11 Taste of BC and Produce Market
At 2pm we will have all local fruits, vegetables and specialty foods, such as goat cheese
and honey products, to sample. As well there will be many items for sale. Tickets will be available for purchase to taste a variety of BC wines. The evening meal will be an AYCE Spaghetti dinner at 5:30pm.
August 18 – 19 Luau Weekend
Our Luau is simply spectacular and will have you talking about it for weeks. Paul Tavai-
Latta with his beautiful dancers takes us on a journey thru Polynesia. Audience participation is also part of the show, good for a few laughs. The
dinner show will start
after the meal has been served and will feature the dancers showing us their authentic
Polynesian costumes. Our Luau meal will be a real pig roast with all the trimmings.
Tickets will go on sale in the Country Store on July 15 -- a limited amount of tickets
are available and they sell out fast!
August 25 – 26 – Wet’n Wild
Kids, bring your bathing suits and towel to the Rec Centre at 2pm and be prepared
to get wet!! Come and enjoy an AYCE Chili dinner at 5:30pm and then dance the night
away with the Hong Kong Cowboy at 7pm.
September 3 – 5 Labor Day Carnival
Fun for the whole family! Enjoy the different events such as Ring Toss, Find the Worm
eating contest, Egg Spoon Race, Adult’s Raw Egg toss and the Bouncy Tents. Don’t forget the cotton candy, Sno cones and popcorn. Events start at 2pm and go until 4pm.
As this will be the last meal of the season the cook is going to surprise us with a selection of entrées. Chili, hamburgers, hot dogs, spaghetti and who knows what else.
Have one or some of each for one price, some items may be limited. 
On September 3 (Labor Day), our checkout time is waived for the day so all the kids
and adults can join in on the annual clean-up of the preserve starting at 11am. Exchange
a bag of picked-up garbage, not household garbage, and enjoy a free hot dog (12pm –
1pm).
September 15 Minter Gardens
Need something to do? Get a group together and carpool to the Minter Gardens. The
gardens are absolutely breathtaking. Don't forget your camera. It is wonderful to stroll
around the gardens and take in all the beauty. There is a great little gift shop as well as
a restaurant.
September 29 Thanksgiving Potluck & TT Singles Weekend (to be confirmed)
Every year we celebrate Thanksgiving a couple of weekends before the Canadian
Thanksgiving. We will supply the turkey and stuffing and would like you to bring your
favorite side dish. There will be a sign-up sheet posted in the Rec Hall and you must
sign up before 2 pm on Saturday to attend this event. Dinner will start at 5pm sharp. As
this is a rotating potluck everyone must be in their seats and ready to go at 5pm or you
may miss out on some of the food.
Attention all TTSNW members (to be confirmed) come and enjoy the Thousand
Trails Cultus Lake preserve, the best and only one in Canada. Lots of activities and
good food will be planned by your co-coordinators.
Fishing
For a great time come and enjoy the world famous fishing on the Fraser River. Catch
Sockeye, Red Springs, Coho, White Springs, Pink Salmon and even the mighty
Sturgeon. Fishing charters are available locally. Fishing starts in June and goes
through the winter season.
In October and November there is fishing galore on the Vedder River, only 20 minutes from the preserve. Contact the Ranger Station about special rental prices for your fishing party in the off-season. Catch all of the salmon mentioned above as wellas the elusive Steelhead Salmon
starting in December on the Vedder River.

December 8 Christmas Party and Potluck
Come out to the preserve for the day or the weekend, and join the staff and members for
the annual Christmas party and potluck luncheon. The festivities will start at 1pm - you
bring the goodies and we’ll supply the Ham. If you are interested, call the preserve and let us know that you will be coming.
