Theme Weekends 2009
April 10 – 12: OPENING WEEKEND and Easter and Passover, all rolled into one.
Come join us and rid yourself of the “Winter Blues” All sorts of egg events, races, hunts, tosses and the really big treat Easter Services with “The Merrill Family", a family concert featuring many instruments.
April 24 – 26: Fishing Derby. Get your fishing gear ready and come joinin the Fishing Derby, we’re going for the Trout. Prizes for youth and adults – biggest, first caught, and of course, the elusive albino. You’ll certainly reel in some excitement this weekend – fun for all ages. The Community Bible Church will be here on Sunday.
May 8-10: Tribute to Mothers/Grandmothers. Give Mom the morning off and treat
her to Pancake Breakfast on Saturday and/or French Toast Breakfast on Sunday. Make a gift for Mother or Grandmother in crafts. Join in for a mom & kid look alike contest. Top it off with a Miniature Golf Tournament and bring them to the Mother’s Day Tea. Entertaining everyone on Saturday night with be the amazing Al Grout. Sandy Glass Musical Ministries will be here on Sunday.
May 15 – 17: Fur-togenic Weekend: Come help us celebrate National Pet Day May 17. Bring your favorite photos of your pet and your pet of course, and plan to take other pictures at the park. We will have a Fur-togenic Contest, along with a Paw-sonality Contest and games to show off their talents. Come be part of the Paw-purr-azzi! Saturday will be the first of our regular biweekly Craft and Flea Markets, don’t forget to sign up for a table. Sunday the Community Bible Church will be here.
May 22 -25: Memorial Day Weekend: Hooray, the summer season really begins. Site decorating contest. Decorate your golf carts and yourself for a Red, White and Blue

Costume & Cart Challenge / Parade. Ceramics, crafts and games fill the weekend. Don’t forget to sign up for a table at our Craft & Flea Market. Entertaining us on Saturday night will be the popular No Limit Band. Our Memorial Day Service will be at 11 am on Monday, May 25th. The North Annville Bible Church will be here on Sunday.
June 5-7: Busy Bee Weekend: We’ll keep you busy as a bee this weekend. Learn about bees, from an expert, Jim Hoover, President of the Capital Area Beekeepers Assn. Make honeycomb candles, play games and other challenges as you join in our bee-utiful activities. Joining us on Sunday will be the Lebanon Valley Bible Church.
June 12-14: Blues, Blues, Blues: Join us as we look at the wonderful origin of the
Blues music, the only true original American music art form Bring your instruments and join in our talent show. And highlight will be that wonderful blues guitarist, Roger “Hurricane” Wilson. Saturday will be the Craft and Flea Market,
Tables available. Joining us on Sunday will be the Community Bible Church.
June 19-21: Driving Force Weekend: Celebrate Father’s/Grandfather’s Day – make race cars together, and race them for prizes. Fun games and how about a pool tournament to add to the fun. Soul Purpose, gospel quartet, will be here on Sunday.
June 26-28: Wild, Wild West Weekend: The first in a series of weekends celebrating the early days of America. This one will focus on the untamed

west, with owboy/cowgirl activities – how about sack races and of course a Horseshoe Tournament, but be on uard, for the Desperados. Special this week will be the presentation Saturday afternoon by the Red Creek Wildlife Center. You don’t want to miss this one. Saturday will be the Craft and Flea Market. Joining us on Sunday will be The Gideons.
July 3 – 6: Carnival Weekend: What better way to celebrate the 4th then an old Fashion Carnival? Games of skill, prizes galore, yummy food and our famous Water Slide. If that’s too much for you soak up some sun at the pool after visiting our Daiquiri poolside bar. Saturday night enjoy the exciting sounds of The Roger Harris Trio. Joining us on Sunday will be the New Creation Singers, from Teen Challenge.
July 10-12: Native American Weekend: Focus this weekend will be on the Native
American influence in America. We’ll feature Native American games, crafts and music. Learn some outdoor skills. What would Native American weekend be without a bon fire, with music and stories and of course s’mores!!!! (Did they really have marshmallows?! Don’t forget to sign up for a table at our Craft and Flea Market. The Lebanon Valley Bible Church will be with us on Sunday.
July 17-18: Pioneer Weekend: The last in our series on early days in America will focus on the Pioneers. The weekend will be filled with games played in the Pioneer days, and a Costume Challenge will bring the whole early America scene together as you are invited to dress as your favorite character from the Pioneers, Native American or Wild Wild West!!! This challenge will be held Saturday night, beginning with a parade. Feel free to wear your costume all day. Joining us on
Sunday will be the Community Bible Church
July 24-26: Tour de France Weekend: While they are bicycling away in France we
will have our own Bike weekend. A bike maintenance and safety session, a skills session, and the feature event a Bike Rodeo, featuring bike decoration, competition and a race or two. For the adults, what would France be without a Wine and Cheese Party? Sign up for a table at the Craft & Flea Market. On Sunday, The Goosecreek Boys gospel music will be featured.
July 31 – Aug 2: Luau Weekend: The ever popular and always sold out event of the year. Grass skirts and Hawaiian shirts the dress of the day. The feast is great (roast pig, and all those wonderful tropical salads, veggies and deserts) don’t forget to sign up early at the Country Store. The days will be filled with pineapple bowling, coconut tosses, poi painting, and water games. Saturday night after the Feast you will be entertained by that awesome group, Culture Shock. The Lebanon Valley Bible Church will be with us on Sunday.
August 7 – 9: Ageless Talent Show. If you missed this event last year, you missed some amazing talent. Play an instrument, sing alone or with a group, enjoy telling jokes,
or story telling, like to dance, do magic, write poetry, whatever talent you would like to share, come and entertain all of us. The Talent Show will be held on Saturday night with our own Award Ceremony. Judges will be selected during the week. The days will be filled with ceramics, games, a volleyball tournament, and sunning at the pool while enjoying the Poolside Daiquiri Bar. Plan to go to the Craft and Flea Market on Saturday morning. The Community Bible Church will be here on Sunday.
August 14 – 16: The Sky’s the Limit: Let’s turn our heads skyward this weekend and learn about the vast overhead. Games to challenge our skills and crafts to brighten our environment. And topping it all the ever popular No Limit Band.
The musical duo Hyssongs will be with us on Sunday.
Aug 21-23: Get Yur Motors Running: Race, race, race. Relay
races, pool races, car races, food challenges, scavenger hunts. Can you keep up?? Run over to the Craft and Flea Market on Saturday. Take a break at the Daiquiri Poolside Bar.
Enjoy resting while doing some ceramics. Joining us on Sunday will be The Harmonizers, a local men’s chorus.
August 28 – 30: Back To School Blues: The theme is blue this week, Blueberry Pancakes, Blue Clues Scavenger Hunt, Blue Chug-a-lug, Blue icing challenge will fill the days, along with a volley ball tournament, topped off Saturday night with a Pool Party. On Sunday, a local woman’s chorus, The Harmonettes will be here.
Sept 4 – 7: Labor Day Celebration: To celebrate working, let’s play: Kayak races, a
Tug of War over the “green lagoon”, ceramics, a Scavenger hunt, old fashion games, a Craft and Flea Market and to entertain us on Saturday evening the very talented Roger Harris Trio. Site decorating contest, with winner announced at the evening entertainment. Joining us on Sunday will be the Family Circle.
Sept 11 – 13: $$$ Daze: Bingo and Po-Ke-No during the day, Night at the Races on Saturday night. Come and cheer your favorite “nag”. The Lebanon Valley Bible Church will be here on Sunday.
Sept 18 – 20: Surprise Weekend: Come learn to dance or maybe teach us a new
dance. We’ll make it a real how-down. Horseshoe Tournament, ceramics, and mini-golf to occupy you during the day. Tables available for our Craft and Flea Market Saturday morning. The Community Bible Church will be with us on Sunday.
Sept 25 – 27: Apple Harvest Weekend: Flea Marketers, craft sales, games, apple pies, roost beef sandwiches, sausages, and more! We’ll open this one up to the public for another great weekend. If you would like a vendor application to sell your wares please call 717-867-5516. Craft Sale will be on Saturday from 10am – 4 pm. North Annville Bible Church will be here on Sunday.
Oct 2 – 4: Back to the Past: Spend this weekend reminiscing about days of old. Share your favorite TT memories at our wine and cheese social for adults. Meet
new members and find out who has been the longest member, who is the oldest member, and who is the newest member at our fun filled social events. Don’t forget to bring your Thousand Trails pictures. Prizes awarded for funniest, happiest, and most embarrassing! Entertaining us on Saturday will be the ever popular Memory Music group. A real treat!! Joining us on Sunday will be the Lebanon Valley Bible Church.
Oct 9 – 11; No Theme this weekend: Craft and Flea Market on Saturday morning.
Bingo as usual on Friday night and Po-Ke-No and ceramics during the day.
Oct 23 – 25: Haunted Trail: The first weekend for our Haunted Trail. Are you
prepared to face the challenge and be among the first to venture though our spooky environment? The Café will open at the Pavilion Friday night and we will be serving Hot dogs, hamburgers, French fries, hot and cold drinks and of course a hot soup from the Witch’s caldron. Our final Flea and Craft Market will be held on Saturday morning. The Mt Calvary Church Children will be with us on Sunday.
Oct 30- Nov 1: Halloween and Closing Weekend: So much to do so little time. End of season already. Trick or Treat on Saturday afternoon, the Halloween Parade ending with the judging of costumes and presentation of prizes for costumes and Site Decoration and the final night of the Haunted Trail. Don’t miss the wonderful food at the Pavilion. The Last Generation, a musical duo, will be here on Sunday.
