THEME WEEKENDS 2009

May 23rd- May 25th Memorial Day Weekend:
Big kickoff for the summer season. BBQ’s, hamburgers, hot dogs, and more. Talent contest where the next great American Idol may be found, Karaoke with Patty, and
a Big Race.

June 20th Las Vegas Weekend:
You don’t have to go to Nevada to look for Lady Luck. Try your luck here at BlackJack, Roulette, Bingo, and more. Win prizes.


June 27th 50’s Weekend:
Rock and Roll all weekend long “At the Hop”. Dance Contest, Elvis contest and all your favorite 50’s songs will make this weekend something to remember.


July 4th Weekend:

Big Parade, and a Carnival second to none. Karaoke contest, Watermelon and Pie eating, plus games that will last through the night.


July 17th Bluegrass Weekend:
This will be our 18th annual Bluegrass fun filled weekend. Hosted by the North San Diego County Bluegrass Group. Starts Friday night through Sunday at noon. A big MUST to experience.

 

August 8th Hawaiian Days Weekend:
Hawaiian Dinner, Hula Dance Lessons, Pool games, and more.


August 22nd August Dog Days Weekend:
Bring your pet and show off the best dress, best tricks, largest, and smallest plus a Big Show called “Sparky & Company” filled with lots of fun and games.

September 4th Labor Day Weekend:
End of season, back to school time. Teen dance, Western Roundup, and Chili Contest.

 

October 31st Decorate your rigs for Halloween. We will also have a pumpkin decorating contest and a costume parade. Then head into town to enjoy the “Great Pumpkin Parade and Carnival. There is also an Idyllwild Ghost Town to visit.

 

NOVEMBER

November 7th Veterans Day
Veterans Day Program to honor our Veterans. Veterans eat free at our special dinner. 

November 14 To take some of the chill out of the weekend we will have a soup and stew contest, then an all member potluck. We’ll also have a puzzle challenge.

November 21 Movie Nights Marathon. Thanksgiving Trivia Afterwards Let's trade your favorite or family holiday recipes.

November 26  Join us for our Traditional homemade Turkey Dinner. We will provide the turkey, prime rib, stuffing, potatoes, gravy, rolls, cranberry sauce and vegetable. Please bring a dessert or side dish to share with your fellow friends and guests. We will be hosting three less fortunate families in Idyllwild for our Thanksgiving family dinner. November 28th Mexican Theme Weekend. Let’s take a break from the traditional Thanksgiving Theme and head to Mexico for a Enter the best salsa contest challenge. A Piñata Party for the ninos and ninas. Albert will cook his chili verde and we’ll have a Mexican potluck.

DECEMBER

December 5th  Tree decorating Party
We will bake some cookies, eat some and save some to help decorate the tree.  Bring your favorite all ready baked Holiday cookies and recipe for a holiday cookie exchange. We will also bag up some cookies to send overseas to our troops.

December 12th Decorate your rig for the Holiday’s contest.  Learn how to do some creative Holiday cards.  Bring a gift worth over $10.00 or more if you like to go towards a local family that we have adopted. Call the preserve to find out age group and sizes.

December 19th Keep Warm and Cozy watching a Holiday movie marathon and drink hot chocolate and hot apple cider. Brown bag bingo, put a gift in worth only $3.00 and bring it to bingo.

December 24th Holiday Party
Bring a hors d’ourve and some drink to our Holiday Party and listen to some traditional holiday music.

December 31 New Year’s Eve festivities to be determined. Please contact the park for more details.
