At Lake Minden we strive to offer a wide variety of interesting and enjoyable activities throughout the year including:

• Friday Night Family Pot Luck Social. Please sign up in the Adult Lodge by Thursday at 3:00pm. If you will be arriving in the park later than 3:00 pm you can sign up by phone message @ 530-656-2709. There may be a $1.50 to $3.50 charge depending on what type of pot luck we are having.
• Brown Bag B-I-N-G-O is every Friday Night at 7:00pm in the Adult Lodge. Players are asked to bring a prize worth about $1.00 concealed in a brown paper bag to be used as a bingo prize.
• A Family Movie is show on Fridays at 6:45pm in the Family Lodge. Pop Corn is available and all movies are rated G to PG 13. All children under 12 must be supervised by an adult.
• Family Candy Bar Bingo is Saturday at 1:00pm in the Adult Lodge.
• The Family Ice Cream Social is Saturday at 2:30 pm in the Adult Lodge. Ice cream is $1.50 a scoop. A variety of toppings are available at no extra charge.
• Fresh baked cinnamon rolls are available on Fridays at 9:00am. Please sign up in the Adult Lodge by Thursday at 3:00pm for Cinnamon rolls. If you will be arriving in the park later than 3:00 pm Thursday, you can call ahead to sign up by phone @ 530-656-2708 or 530-656-2809.

April: Home Is Where the Heart Is

5th – 7th: Lake Minden 1st Annual Birthday Celebration: Help us celebrate Lake Minden’s 27th Birthday. Friday night we’ll have a have a Pizza Party Pot luck followed by Brown Bag B-I-N-G-O. Saturday join us after Candy Bar B-I-G-G-O for Birthday Cake at the Ice Cream Social.

12th - 14th: Thanks for the Memories: Bring or send your favorite photos from your times spent at Lake Minden and we’ll do a large bulletin board display. Bring additional photos and we’ll be crafting mini memory books, cards and scrap book pages. Share your favorite Lake Minden memories at the Friday Night Pot Luck Social and while you’re at it, make some new ones.

19th – 21st: Top Ten Things to do at Lake Minden: How many activities can you check off the list of the Top Ten things to do at your home away from home at Lake Minden? Make new friends at the Friday Night Pot Luck Social and Stay for Brown Bag B-I-N-G-O. Saturday race to complete the list.

26th - 28th: Hydroplane Races & Barn Dance: The big boats make their first appearance of the season the 27th and 28th. Bring your cameras and be prepared to catch the excitement first hand. Saturday Night show us your best moves at the Barn Dance.       

          
May, A Month of Celebrations

3rd - 5th Cinco de Mayo: Hola Amigos! Sign up early for the Friday Night Cinco de Mayo Taco bar Pot Luck Social. Saturday celebrate Cinco de Mayo with lots of Latin themed activities, crafts. Don’t forget Saturday Candy Bar B-I-N-G-O and the Ice Cream Social.

10th - 12th Mother’s Day: From Bingo to Beading and everything in between moms of all ages will find a host of great activities. Bring Mom to a “just like Mom used to make it” Friday Night Potluck. Find out how well you know your mom with special games planned for Saturday. Moms don’t forget to pick up your free a raffle ticket at the front gate for our special Mother’s Day raffle at the Saturday Pie & Ice Cream Social.

17th - 19th Armed Forces Day/ Hydroplane Boat Races: Pay tribute to those who served or are now serving our country in the Armed Forces at a Friday Night Pot Luck Social followed by Red, White and Blue bingo. Veterans are encouraged to bring Photo’s for our Salute to Veteran’s Board and memories to share with other veterans and members. The hydroplane boats make their first appearance of the season the 18th and 19th. Bring your cameras and be prepared to catch the excitement first hand. Saturday Night show us your best moves at the Barn Dance. (Swim Beaches will be closed and no fishing during the boat races.).

24th - 27th Memorial Day/Craft and Variety Fair/Barn Dance: Kick off your Memorial Day Weekend at a Friday Night Potluck Social, Saturday Paddle Boat Races, Bouncy House, Candy Bar Bingo and Root Beer Floats at the Ice Cream Social. Join us for the first Craft and Variety Fair of the season. Saturday Night will have a Good Old Fashioned Barn Dance!      

June: Remember When

7th - 9th 1930S & 40s
Revisit the 30s and 40s and Mickey Mouse, Monopoly and  Marbles, Tidily-Winks and Jacks, Jump Ropes and  Hopscotch, Baseball Slinky, Scrabble, Candy Land, Chutes and Ladders, Clue, Silly Putty, Sorry. The Yuba City Moose Lodge will be having their Annual Summer Picnic on Saturday the 8th. The Electric RC Boats will be having their National Races on the 4th-7th. Have your camera ready for some great shots.

14th - 16th 1950s &1960s
In the 50s and 60s Lego, Matchbox Cars, Hula Hoops Barbie & Ken, Slip & Slide, Pick-up Sticks Etch-a-Sketch, Silly Putty, Troll Dolls, GI Joe, Spiro Graph, and Battle Ship became popular. On June 15th Pom Pom the Clown will also be visiting us again with a variety of children’s activities. Come relive the good old days and participate in some 50s and 60s activities. Show off your best Twist at the Saturday Night Barn Dance.

2nd – 4th Lake Minden’s Got Talent
Friday afternoon share your favorite crafting talent and ideas at Adult Craft Show and Tell, then stay for the Friday Night Potluck Social and Brown Bag B-I-N-G-O. Saturday show off your physical skills in a Paddle Boat Race on the lake, cool off at the Ice Cream Social  then bring your best singing voice and join us for an afternoon of Karaoke. On the 3rd & 4th the RC BOATS will be racing on the lake again.

9th – 11th International Clown Week
On August 10th, Pom Pom the Clown will be visiting us again with a variety of children’s activities. Have your camera ready for some great shots; we celebrate International Clown Week with Face Painting and other Silly Activities. Maybe you have a few silly tricks of your own to share.

September:  Life’s a Mystery

6th – 8th Mysteries Abound
Friday Night Bring a “Mystery” addition for the Mystery Soup Pot at the Mystery Pot Luck and we’ll puzzle together an evening of fun. Saturday, be the first to solve the Mystery Scavenger Hunt, Puzzle a photo frame or do other “puzzling” craft projects. On the 7th & 8th Radio Control boats will be back racing on the lake.

13th – 15th Think Like a Detective
Friday bring a “Mystery” addition for a mystery Chef Salad Pot Luck Social and a Mystery Prize for Brown Bag B-I-N-G-O. Saturday followthe clues and solve the Mystery Scavenger Hunt and then meet back at the Adult Lodge for Candy Bar bingo and the Ice Cream Social. It’s no Mystery that the 14th Jet Skis are racing on the Lake this weekend so settle in and watch them go. (Swim Beaches will be closed during the Jet Ski Races.)

20th – 22nd Elementary My Dear Watson
Bring your favorite “mystery” addition for Mystery Pot Luck Dinner Social and a mystery prize for Brown Bag B-I-N-G-O. Enter a Mystery Puzzle competition and see if you can put together a Mystery puzzle without the benefit of knowing what it is. Do a Mystery Craft and trade your favorite mystery books at a Mystery Book, Book Swap and Coffee. On the 21st the float and Float & Fly RC Pontoon Planes will be taking off and landing on the lake. Bring your cameras and get some great shots.

27th – 29th Float and Fly
Celebrate Fall at the Friday Night Pot Luck Dinner and Brown Bag Bingo. Saturday and Sunday enjoy the show as the Fly and Float RC Planes take off from and land on the lake. Do a Fall Craft or Jewelry Project or join us for an afternoon game of cards. Don’t forget Saturday Candy Bar B-I-N-G-0) and the Ice Cream Social.

11th – 13th Getting Ready for Ghouls
We’ll be making fall themed Crafts and Halloween decorations this week so come ready to have some crafty fun. Saturday don’t get spooked at the Ghost and Goblin Scavenger Hunt. Come in where it’s safe for the Friday Night Pot Luck Social and Saturday Candy Bar B-I-N-G-O and the Ice Cream Social.

18th – 20th Hydroplane Races
Join us for the always exhilarating Hydroplane Boat Races. These races are a Lake Minden favorite that promise rip roaring fun and heart pounding excitement. A little too much excitement? Take a break from the races for Candy Bar Bingo and the Ice Cream Social. Don’t forget to join us Saturday night for a good old fashioned Barn Dance. (Swim Beaches will be closed during the boat races).

25th, 27th & 31st Mysterious Monsters
This will be a weekend of Ghoulish Halloween Fun. Don’t be chilled to the bone. Bring your favorite addition for chili for a Chili Pot Luck Social. Up for some fun? Dig up your deadliest costume and join the fun. Prizes will be given for the deadest costume. Also on Saturday is tailgate trick or treat. On Thursday the 31st we’ll have our traditional hay ride Trick-o- Treating.

November:  I’m Thankful For…

15th – 17th It’s All About Family
Bring your favorite photos and memories and we’ll do some scrapbooking with journal entries. We’ll also make a variety of mini scrap books that are great for holiday gifts. Bring the Family for the Friday Night Potluck Social. Saturday morning we’ll play family board games and do family crafts. Later bring the whole family to Candy Bar B-I-N-G-O and stay for the Ice Cream Social.

22nd – 24th Lake Minden Thanksgiving
This is Lake Minden’s most popular social. Join us Saturday for a traditional Thanksgiving meal of turkey and dressing at our Annual Thanksgiving Pot Luck Enjoy a scrumptious meal while you catch up with old friends and make new ones. Then take a relaxing walk around the lake. Join us for Karaoke or make Christmas cards and mini tree ornaments.

29th – 1st Crafters Holiday

6th - 8th Deck the Halls
This week we’ll be making a variety of holiday ornaments in the children’s and Adult craft sessions this. We’ll also be decorating a hat, sock and mitten/glove tree during the month of December. Bring your donations to the Adult Lodge and help us share the holiday spirit with the less fortunate. Don’t forget The Friday Night Pot Luck Social, Brown Bag B-I-N-G-O and Saturday Candy Bar Bingo and Ice Cream Social.

13th - 15th Tis the Season
Join us for our Friday night Pot Luck Social followed by Christmas Brown Bag B-I-N-G-O. Get in the spirit with holiday caroling around the Christmas tree. We’ll keep warm with hot chocolate and popcorn. It’s not too late to bead a pair of Christmas Earrings in a Holiday Bead Class. Saturday join us for Candy Bar B-I-N-G-O and the Ice Cream social.

20th – 21st Christmas Dinner Social
Join us for our Annual Christmas Pot Luck Dinner Social on the 21st. Not quite finished with your Christmas shopping? Take a Beading Class and make a bracelet or Pair of Earrings. 27th - 29th Happy New Years
Friday Night join us for a pot luck dinner, Brown Bag B-I-N-G-0 as we say good bye to 2013. Saturday will have B-I-N-G-O and the Last Ice Cream Social of the year. On New Year’s Eve, Monday the 31st, well have a Finger Food Pot Luck Social followed by a variety of card and board games.
