ONGOING ACTIVITIES

• The Friday Night Family Pot Luck Social. Please sign up in the Adult Lodge by Thursday at 3:00pm. If you will be arriving in the park later than 3:00 pm you can sign up by phone message @ 530-656-2709.  There may be a $1.50 to $3.50 charge depending on what type of pot luck we are having.

• Brown Bag B-I-N-G-O is every Friday Night at 7:00pm in the Adult Lodge.  Players are asked to bring a prize worth about $1.00 concealed in a brown paper bag to be used as a bingo prize.

• A Family Movie is show on Fridays at 6:45pm in the Family Lodge. Pop Corn is available and all movies are rated G to PG 13. All children under 12 must be supervised by an adult.

• Family Candy Bar Bingo is Saturday at 1:00pm in the Adult Lodge.

• The Family Ice Cream Social is Saturday at 2:30 pm in the Adult Lodge. Ice cream is $1.50 a scoop. A variety of toppings are available at no extra charge.

2012 Theme Weekends

April: Spring into fun.

6-8 Easter Festivities: Friday night join us for the Pot Luck Social, Brown Bag Bingo or a Family Movie. Saturday morning we’ll die Easter eggs with the kids for our annual Easter Egg Hunt Sunday. Bring your cameras; this is a great weekend for photos. Don’t forget to get your tickets early and sign up for our annual Easter Dinner Saturday afternoon.

13-15 Book Swapathon: Pack up your unwanted, in good condition books to trade with other book worms. Come for the Friday Night Pot Luck Social and stay for Brown Bag B-I-N-G-O Do a spring craft or bead project. Don’t forget Saturday Candy Bar B-I-N-G-O and the Ice Cream Social. Walk off those extra calories with a walk around the Lake.

20–22 Hobby Share: Do you have an unusual hobby? Does your hobby fit in a bread box or a warehouse? Is your hobby travel friendly? Maybe you’re just looking for a new, interesting hobby? Share your favorite hobby or get a few new ideas at the Hobby Lover’s hobby share and coffee. Don’t forget Saturday Candy Bar B-I-N-G-O and the Ice Cream Social.

27–29 Fly &Float: Chase away those winter time blues with Friday Night Pot Luck Dinner and Brown Bag Bingo. Saturday and Sunday enjoy the show as the Fly and Float RC Planes take off from and land on the lake. Do a Spring Craft or Jewelry Project or join us for an afternoon game of cards.

MAY: Celebrate the USA

4–6 Cinco de Mayo / RC Boat Races: Hola Amigos! Bring your favorite Nacho toping and join us for a Friday Night Nacho Pot Luck Social. Saturday celebrate Cinco de Mayo with lots of Latin themed activities, crafts. Saturday and Sunday watch RC Boats race around the lake or take a beading class and make a festive pair of earrings.

11–13 Hydroplane Boat Races: Join us Saturday for the season’s first Hydroplane Boat Races. These races are a Lake Minden favorite that promise rip roaring fun and heart pounding excitement. A little too much excitement? Take a break from the races for Candy Bar Bingo and the Ice Cream Social. Don’t forget to join us Saturday night for a good old fashioned Barn Dance.

19–21 Armed Forces Day: Pay tribute to those who served or are now serving our country in the Armed Forces at a Friday Night Pot Luck Social followed by Red, White and Blue bingo. Veterans are encouraged to bring Photo’s for our Salute to Veteran’s Board and memories to share with other veterans and members.

25–28 Memorial Day: Celebrate the beginning of summer with by packing up your favorite Picnic foods and joining us for a Lake Minden Community Potluck Picnic. Test your observation skills on a Photo Scavenger Hunt, Enter a Family Paddle Boat Race or Volley Ball Game. Saturday night we’ll celebrate with a good old fashioned Barn Dance.

JUNE: Summertime Fun

1–3 Challenging Activities: We invite you to a week end of challenging activities that will include: card games, board games, miniature golf and paddle boat races, hula hoops and a scavenger hunt, just to name a few. Don’t forget to join us Saturday for the Ice Cream social and Candy Bar B-I-N-G-O.

8–10 Clowning Around: Join us Friday night baked Potato Pot Luck and bring a silly surprise concealed in a brown paper to Friday Night Bingo. We’ll mix up the bags and give them out for bingo prizes. Saturday Barnacle Betty the Pirate will entertain and amaze children of all ages.

15-17 Father’s Day / Fly & Float 16th & 17th: Bring Dad and the family for a weekend of fun and excitement. Start the weekend with the Friday Night Potluck Social, Brown Bag B-I-N-G-O, or a family movie. Saturday and Sunday Watch RC Boats take off and Land on the Lake. Saturday join us for B-I-N-G-O and the Ice Cream Social.

22–24 RC Boats 23rd & 24th: We invite you to a week end of fun and exciting activities that will include: horse shoes, miniature golf and paddle boat races, hula hoops and a scavenger hunt, just to name a few. Take a break Saturday and Sunday to watch the RC Boat Races. Don’t forget to join us Saturday for the Ice Cream social and Candy Bar B-I-N-G-O. Saturday kick up your heels at the Barn Dance.

29-July 1 Crafters Holiday: Join us for a weekend of crafting. We’ll have tables sat up for Jewelry Making (various projects), Beaded Ornaments, and a variety of Craft Projects. Sign up early for specific projects. Don’t forget The Friday Night Pot Luck Social, Brown Bag and Candy Bar Bingo.

JULY: Three Cheers for America

3-4 Independence Day: Join us Tuesday July 3rd for a Lake Minden/ Nicolas “Let Freedom Ring” Community Celebration. This special event will include Game Booths, Food Booths, a Craft Fair, Paddle Boat Races and various games, a Barn Dance and a Pyrotechnic Fire Work Display. Wednesday July 4th the fun will continue with Paddle Boat Races, Kids Crafts, Games, Candy Bar B-I-N-G-O, and an Ice Cream Social. An area will be set up for campers to light Safe and Sane Fireworks on July 4th.

6-8 Bubble Blast Weekend: Who doesn't love bubbles? Be careful that your Root Beer float doesn’t bubble over at the Ice Cream Social. We’ll be painting with bright colored bubbles, blowing gigantic bubbles and having a bubble gum blowing contests. We’ll even stir up a few bubbles on the lake with paddle boat races.

13–15 Sandtastic Beach Party: Join us Friday Night for Hoagie Sandwich Pot luck Social. Then grab a bucket enter a Sand Castle building competition. Test your skills at a Popsicle Lick-Off, water balloon toss and hula hoop contest then play a lively game of volleyball.

AUGUST: O is for Olympics

3–5 RC Boats/ Olympic Games: Friday we’ll continue our Olympic Games followed by a Pot Luck Social, Brown Bag B-I-N-G-O and a Family Movie. Saturday and Sunday watch the Radio Controlled Boats races, but don’t forget Candy Bar B-I-N-G-O and the Ice Cream Social. Saturday Morning Join Pom Pom the Clown for Super Silly Olympic Games

10–12 Olympic Games Continued: Friday we’ll be doing scrapbook pages so bring along your favorite photos for some new scrapbooking ideas. Well also be sharing and swapping scrapbooking materials so bring those too. Saturday play Candy Bar B-I-N-G-O and have a Root Beer Float at the Ice Cream Social.

17–19 Wrapping up the Olympics: We’ll wrap up the Olympics with a Closing Ceremony Viewing and Potluck Social. Join us Saturday for Candy Bar B-I-N-G-O and the Ice Cream Social followed by Family Karaoke. Kick up your heals at a Saturday Night Barn Dance.

24–27 RC Boat Races: End of the Summer Block Party: Wrap up the summer with a Lake Minden Block Party. We’ll have a variety of activities on the main lawn including, horse shoes, volleyball and face painting. Bring your favorite potluck dish and join us for a picnic lunch by the lake followed by Candy Bar Bingo and an Ice Cream Social. . Later take your turn at Karaoke and show us who’s got talent …and who doesn’t.

SEPTEMBER:

30–2 Labor Day/1950's Sock Hop: Fun for the whole family. Join us Friday Night for a Hoagie Sandwiches & Root Beer Float Pot Luck Social, followed by B-I-N-G-O. Make a hip 50’s craft, or compete in paddle boat races. Saturday night we’ll head to the barn for a ROCK-N-ROLL Barn Dance, complete with Bubble a Gum Blowing, Limbo, and Hula Hoop Contest.



7–9 Grand Parents: Celebrate Grandparents day with an old fashioned Pot Luck and Pie Lunch Social followed by Candy Bar B-I-N-G-O and the Ice Cream Social. We’ll play a variety of card and board games. Take a craft class, then show off your favorite photos in a pocket sized Brag Book you made yourself. These are so cute that you may want to make one for a friend.

14–16 Fly and Float RC Planes: Saturday and Sunday enjoy the show as the Fly and Float RC Planes take off from and land on the lake. Friday take a Jewelry Making Class, and then stay for the Friday Night Potluck Social followed by Brown Bag B-I-N-G-O or a Family Movie. Saturday join us for a Scavenger Hunt, Candy Bar B-I-N-G-O and the Ice Cream Social.

2nd Puzzle Me This: Friday night well put together a “Puzzling” Pot Luck Social. Bring a Mystery addition to the Pot Luck and we’ll put together an evening of fun. Can your team finish a puzzle the fastest? Join the Puzzle Race and find out? Puzzle a photo frame or do other “puzzling” craft projects. Hope you’re not too puzzled to take in a Bead Class.

28–30 Travel Trivia: How well do you know our 1000 Trails Parks? Join us for an evening of fun Travel Trivia. Show of your knowledge of Thousand Trails and the surrounding arias and/or gather information you can use while planning your future excursions. Stay for the Friday Night Pot Luck Social and Brown Bag BINGO.

26–28 Getting Ready for Ghouls: This will be a weekends of Ghoulish Halloween Fun. Don’t be chilled to the bone. Bring your favorite addition for chili for a Chili Pot Luck Social. Saturday we’ll have a “scarier by the hour” movie marathon, pumpkin decorating contest (carved, painted and/or dressed), and Halloween site decorating. On Wednesday the 31st we’ll have hay ride trick-o- treating.

16–18 Annual Thanksgiving Social: This Lake Minden’s most popular social. Join us Saturday for a traditional Thanksgiving meal of turkey and dressing at our Annual Thanksgiving Pot Luck. Enjoy a scrumptious meal while you catch up with old friends and make new ones. Then take a relaxing walk around the lake. Join us for Karaoke or make Christmas cards and mini tree ornaments.

14–16 Christmas Dinner Social: Join us for our Annual Christmas Pot Luck Dinner Social. Walk off those calories while you follow the clues and hunt for the Yule Log. Not quite finished with your Christmas shopping? Take a Beading Class and make a bracelet or Pair of Earrings. You can also craft a Christmas ornament.

21-23 Merry Christmas: Join us for coffee, hot chocolate and good conversation. We’ll play cards and board games and share holiday memories and stories with old friends and new.

28-30 Happy New Years: Join us for a pot luck dinner, Brown Bag B-I-N-G-0 and Karaoke as we bring in the New Year. (New hears Eve Monday)
