July is jumping!


July 1st: Salmon fishing opens. Make sure to get yours this season.


July 4th: Fabulous Fourth of July!!!
Here in Long Beach we know how to celebrate the 4th of July in style. We will be having a big bon fire on the beach, roasting hot dogs and marsh mellows, as well as setting off tons of fireworks. The city of Long Beach will be setting off fireworks over the beach but why fight the crowd we will have the best seat in town. Feel free to bring some of your own fireworks or just sit back and watch everyone else's either way it is sure to be a blast!!!! Then for those who want to keep our ocean clean there will be a beach clean up on Saturday the 5th be sure to join us in keeping our beaches clean.


July 17th & 18th: 24th Annual Sandsations!!!
This event is put on by the City of Long Beach. From kids to masters of sand castle building, everyone is welcome to enter. Come to Long Beach and join in the fun to win great prizes or bring your camera and just enjoy the sights. Here on the park we will be having some great crafts so the kids can join in the sand- sational fun too!


July at the beach

July is sure to have the right activity for you here at the beach. The 61st annual NPRA rodeo will be taking place. As well as an Art show, and the Clamshell Railroad days.

 

No hot August nights here!


August 17-23rd: The 26th annual International Kite Festival
This event is put on by the city of Long Beach and is a week full of kites. Anyone can enter the contests you don’t have to be a pro. Everyday is a different event so come and stay for all the fun. There will be kites of all sizes, shapes and colors flying in the sky. Make sure to bring a camera you never know what you might see.

The 22nd and 23rd will end with a great fireworks show at night. Don’t be left out of this one. Be sure to come to arts and crafts while you are here and color your kite.

 


August at the beach

This month brings with it a lot of great activities for the whole family. The Saturday markets at the Port of Ilwaco continue as well as Summerfest these are both great events and best of all they are free. Also free this month is the Waikiki beach concert series.

 

Summer's not over yet!!


September 5-7th: Labor Day Weekend
Summer may be coming to an end but the fun at Long Beach continues!

 

September at the beach

Rod Run To The End Of The World. Thousands of classic cars will be here on the peninsula for this big event and you don't want to miss it. There will be classic cars and good oldies music everywhere so come to the beach and visit us while you check out some great cars! Dates are not set for this event yet so feel free to call us for details.

 

October is a Berry Fantastic Month
This year I am telling everyone my secret. The Peninsula is covered with wild berries and this is the time to get them. From wild blueberries to juicy plump blackberries we’ve got them all. These are great to make jelly or pie with. Come get them while the getting is good!

 

October 10th-31st: Wild Mushroom Celebration - The peninsula offers wild mushroom workshops as well as wild mushroom specials at our local restaurants. Head to the beach this October for some mushrooms and fun!

 

October 31st: Halloween on the Coast
Long beach will be howling this Halloween. The Peninsula offers local haunted houses to tour, parties to attend and safe trick or treating activities for the kids. Here at the park we will be carving pumpkins, eating lots of pumpkin goodies and showing The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown.

88th annual Cranberrian Fair. Peninsula Art association will be having another art walk this month. The Water Music festival will also be going on this month, here on the Peninsula. Dates have not been set for this event yet so please check with the preserve.

 


No boring November here!!


November at the beach
Even though the season is over there is still plenty to do at the beach. November hosts Razor clam digs, the annual Cribbage tournament put on by the Chautaqua Lodge and the excitement of storm watching.

 

November 27th: Thanksgiving
Here at the park we will be having a Thanksgiving meal, complete with football on the TV. Feel free to bring your favorite dish!!

December at the beach
The Peninsula offers great holiday activities for the whole family. You never know where Santa and Mrs. Claus might be. A favorite every year is the Lighted Boat Parade, put on at the Ilwaco port every year as well as the crab pot tree lighting. Local bed and breakfast’s open their doors for everyone to enjoy the wonderful decorations.

 

December 24th: Christmas Eve
Join us Christmas Eve for a wonderful get together. We will be having dinner, a gift exchange, and lots of Christmas treats. Feel free to bring your favorite holiday treat!
