22nd, 23rd, 24 and 25th Club Blazer Initiation Memorial Day Weekend: We will be
signing up new members for Club Blazer and having an initiation ceremony every day this
weekend.
For all you folk that might want to know what Club Blazer is all about Club Blazer is geared for our
members between the ages of 3-17. Club Blazer includes team characters like Walker the Wolf, Haley
the Hawk, Harley the Bear, Hoot the Owl, Dray the Dragonfly and Philbert the Squirrel. They are here
to guide us. We are always looking for leaders like you to join us on our journey and promote safety.
Come have a blast with all of the fun stuff we get to do at our resorts. Join Club Blazer and make a
difference.
22nd – 25th Memorial Day Weekend Highlights: Traditionally we re-open our Family Pool
For the summer on this weekend. Also this is the weekend that Recreation Department goes out in full
force with activities for all ages. Our family dances are just one of the many popular events going on
Here at Soledad Canyon. Our Family dances are hosted by The S.O.S. DJ Entertainment. The
Members can enjoy the hammer strike playing basketball, volleyball, miniature golf and pool. Line
Dance lessons for the Electric Slide, Chicken Dance, Y.M.C.A., and Macarena. We plan on a family
Campfire for roasting marshmallows.

30th Soledad’s 2nd Annual Toys for Tots 5K Run kick-off:
Come join us for a good cause. Bring a new unwrapped toy or a suggested donation of $5.00 and we
will sign you right up. Invited guest Air Force, Navy, Army, Coast Guard, Marines,
Young Marines and local Jr. R.O.T.C. and Scouts. After the run stay and visit with us and spend a
great afternoon of fun with family and friends at our beautiful preserve. Swimming, basketball, hammer
strike and fishing are just a few of the many events happening here at Soledad also Club Blazer
initiation and marshmallow roast. Recreation Dept. is collecting toys for our Toys for Tots toy drive.

4th Acton’s Annual 4th of July Parade: Our parade entry will be very patriotic with
Participation of the United States Marine Corps. Marine Aircraft Group, 46 Det. Bravo and the
Edwards Young Marines. Our float entry will have the U.S. Marines and Edwards Young Marines
Posing that famous Marine stand at Iwo Jima. Meet in front of Family Lodge at 7:30 a.m.
4th Fireworks at Palmdale High School Tour: Our annual car caravan to the fireworks
Display start lining up at 4:30 p.m. at F.L.The tour will be lead by Recreation Director Jesus and will
depart at 5:00 p.m. To Palmdale High School. Gates open at 6:00 p.m. the Fireworks start at dusk
Around 9:00 p.m.This event is free and it including parking. Vendors will be selling goods at the
Location for your convenience. 5-minute walk from Palmdale High School is Vallarta Supermarket
(they have hot picnic packages at reasonable prices) or you can bring your own picnic basket.

11th Western Weekend: Activities such as hammer strike, crafts, and western games are just a
few of the highlights. Top off the evening with a family campfire for roasting marshmallows also Club

18th 50’s Rock ‘n ‘Roll Weekend: Pony tails, crew cuts, poodle skirts, leather and letterman
jackets, penny loafers and bobby socks are just some of the things the kids are wearing when the Tbird
and the Pink Ladies get together. The Bunny Hop and The Twist are just some of the dances you
could dance to. Guys can show off on hammer strike. Club Blazer initiation and a campfire for
roasting marshmallows. Family dance with DJ from S.O.S. Entertainment. 
25th Mardi Gras Weekend: Come out and get your beads, make carnival masks at the craft
class so we can wear it to the dance later that night. Collect beads throughout the day when you are
challenged to various games, dares and fun activities such as the hammer strike, hula hoop and limbo,
all run by our Recreation staff. Family dance with DJ from S.O.S. Entertainment also Club Blazer
initiation and a campfire for roasting marshmallows.

1st Luau Weekend: Our annual Luau continues to be the most popular event among teens

29th Toys for Tots 5k Run Toy Drive: Run or “Walk the Trails” at Soledad’s newest trails.
Come run/walk for a great cause, all the toys collected stay in our Antelope Valley. Make a difference.
Bring a new unwrapped toy for our toy drive and spend the day at the preserve with family and friends.
The award ceremony and Club Blazer initiation will be held on our Family Lodge Patio right after the
last participant has crossed the finish line. A family dance with DJ from S.O.S. Entertainment and a
marshmallow roast is scheduled that night.

when our Marketplace vendors come to Soledad in full force for our Soledad Canyon’s Christmas
shopping extravaganza.This is our most popular marketplace weekend. If you can’t find it here maybe
they deserve a bag of coal.

31st New Years Eve Dance: Soledad’s annual New Year Eve Dance is always a great place to
dance the night away and ring in the New Year. The Ray Caster Band is our musical host and one of
the best bands in the high desert. New Years Eve at Soledad is filled with magic and the best in
dance and entertainment. Party favors, champagne, apple cider, 50/50 raffles and balloon drop at
midnight.
