Theme Weekends 2009

 

FEBRUARY 14TH - Valentine Bingo

Tonight we will have a fun night of Valentine Bingo in our North Clubhouse. The popcorn will be served at 6 p.m and we’ll be giving out great prizes to the bingo winners.

MARCH 21ST - Spring Break

The celebration begins with Whalers BBQ lunch served at noon in front of our south clubhouse. “Bananarama Night” event is held for all ages at 7 p.m. in our south clubhouse. We will be making great memories with bananas.

MARCH 24TH - Teen Night

Activities are in the north clubhouse. All teens 12 years and older can join us at 7 – 9 p.m. for blackjack fun, Wii games, pool and great snacks.

MARCH 25TH - Game Day

Check out our activity schedule for candy bar bingo, stacker fun time, and family game time.

 

MARCH 26TH - “Extreme Kids Game Night”

7-11p.m. in our south clubhouse for all kids. Parents drop off the kids for a jam packed evening with crazy games, swimming , snacks and a great movie. Adults wanting to help or stay and take advantage of photo ops are welcomed.

MARCH 27TH - Whalers BBQ lunch

Served at noon. Rock band practice will be scheduled throughout the day for the Saturday competition. Our Chili cook-off will be held at our North Clubhouse also weather permitting we’ll enjoy campfire fun.

MARCH 28TH Whalers BBQ lunch

Served at noon following breakfast at our Whalers Galley in our north clubhouse. We will be serving banana splits during our Rock Band competition in our south clubhouse. Tonight in our south clubhouse we will be hosting “ Night of a Million Nuts!”. Bring your family, friends or yourself for a crazy nut with our recreation team.

APRIL 11TH - Easter Eggs!

Easter Eggs dying for all ages in our South Clubhouse at 1 p.m. The Easter Bunny might hop in for a quick visit too. Tonight we will have our Annual Easter Party in the South Clubhouse. Children will hide eggs for the Adults to find and we’ll have fun playing games. Adults bring flashlights because your hunt will be in the dark.

APRIL 12TH Easter Egg Hunt will be held for all the kids at 2:00 p.m. along with Ice Cream Sundaes served in our South Clubhouse.

MAY 2ND - Cinco De Mayo

Tonight in our North Clubhouse we’ll be having a Dinner Celebration. Come Join the fun.

MAY 10TH - Mom’s Day

Today is and we’ll serve her an ice cream sundae for free in her honor. Ice Cream will be served at 2:00 p.m. in our South Clubhouse.

MAY 22nd-23rd Whalers Rev'M Up
Join in the pinewood derby car-making class and get ready for the Whalers Rest Third Pinewood Derby race (all ages). Between races you can cool off with a banana split or a dip in the pool.

JUNE 12TH – 13TH Castaway Island Weekend
This weekend will be packed full of survival games, nature walks and fort building in the forest. We are hosting our annual survivor night and the crew of the U.S.S. Minnow will be lurking.

JUNE 18TH - Kids Extreme Play Night
Tonight we turn the South Clubhouse over to the kids for fun games, swimming and a great movie.

JUNE 19TH – 20TH - Beach Bash
The Beach will be calling you to come to our beach blanket bingo fun for all ages in our North Clubhouse. Kids will have enough time to run to the beach and play in the sand with our sand castle building contest. Saturday night you can join the recreation staff as we host a Beach Bash Party for all ages.

JUNE 26TH – 27TH - Tropical Breezes
Wear your favorite beach attire and we’ll have the smoothies ready and slick up the water slide for a weekend of splashin’ fun. Nehemiah Brown will be back to enterain with his lively performance Saturday night in the South Clubhouse.


JULY 3RD – 4TH Happy Birthday America
Whalers Rest is a great place to celebrate the 4th of July. We will have a family BBQ along with games and old fashion fun. Bring your lawn chair or join the parade for our annual 4th of July parade.

JULY 10TH – 11th Reach For the Stars
This weekend will be reserved for those who love to gaze into the unknown. We will be having “The Great Gondolas Balloon Race”. Also Dee Smith will share his voice in music on Saturday night in our South Clubhouse.

JULY 17TH – 18th Way Out West
Cowboys and Cowgals ya’all come to the greatest corral on the Oregon coast. The poker stampede will be running’ around the preserve. Keep a lookout for the local sheriff because he has the jail warmed up for you or your kin. Hired Hands will be here to entertain us with some great fiddlin’.

JULY 24TH-25TH - Down On the Farm
This weekend we will be looking for farmhands and future farmers to attend our Barnyard Party. We will be running the greased pigs and churning butter. In the evening we’ll have an old fashion hoedown with the Bush Pilots and some great blue grass tunes at 7 p.m. in our South Clubhouse.


JULY 31st - AUGUST 1st Weekend at the Track
The horses will be running this weekend in our very own horse race. Place your bets on this weekend and it will be a big payoff of memories. The Country atmosphere down to the great music by the Hired Hands will stir your fun.

 

AUGUST 7TH – 8TH - Battle of the Sexes
Guys verse Gals weekend. Join in the fun with the amazing 2 day race. Get all geared up for our “Can You Beat That” party Saturday night in our South Clubhouse.

AUGUST 14TH – 15TH - Arabian Nights
The east is coming alive this weekend at Whalers with our very own “Egyptian Desert Party” for all ages. There will also be a genie bottle making class but you will have to provide your own genie. Paul King will entertain us with his favorite singing in our South Clubhouse Saturday night.

AUGUST 20TH - Kids Extreme Game Night
Tonight we turn the South Clubhouse over to the kids for fun games, swimming and a great movie.

AUGUST 21ST- 22nd - Whalers Carnival Weekend
Join us Saturday afternoon for the annual fun zone. Clowns, prizes, games and cookie walk is always a favorite with all the members. Finish off the evening with the Graber- Sauter & Rudd Band and some country gospel music.

AUGUST 28TH – 29TH - Pirates of the Pacific
Shiver me Timbers land lubbers, this is the time them pirates try to take over the preserve. Their vessels have landed and pirate battles will be lurking. Beware thee Captain Shari might make you walk the plank. See if you can find the treasure before they do. Also Ron Diller will be sharing his talents on his guitars in our south clubhouse Saturday night.

SEPTEMBER 4TH – 5TH - Cruisin’ U.S.S. Whalers
The waves will be crashing with our very own “Bon Voyage to Summer Party”. The ship will hit the high seas with fun as we sway to the tunes of Dee Smith on Saturday night in the South Clubhouse following our dinner in Whalers Galley.
